They Say There's Something Strange at the Edge of Town

An ensemble mystery game for about four players. Inspired by The X-Files, Lost, and Twin Peaks, as well as Microscope and i’m sorry did you say street magic.

Strange lights seen out past the old highway…

New tunnels appeared in the old mines, with scraping claw marks in the walls…

Their missing child was found, but she didn’t come back the same…

In “They Say There’s Something Strange at the Edge of Town,” gameplay is collaborative and diceless, with a rotating narrator and characters that change from scene to scene. Players choose the setting together, expand the cast of characters as the game continues, and use the suggestions of others at the table to create a shared mystery. The narrative is designed to unfold over time, and for secrets to be uncovered by players at the same time as they're discovered by the characters.
